How To Make AI Music For YouTube Videos In 2026

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To make AI music for a YouTube video, write a brief that fixes the mood, instrumentation, vocal choice, structure and target length; generate several candidates; edit the strongest arrangement; export a format your video editor accepts; then confirm that your plan grants the YouTube and monetization rights you need. The workflow below uses tools whose documented features match those jobs.

1. Define The YouTube Music Brief

Write this before opening a generator. It keeps the result tied to the video instead of producing a generic song.

  • Role: background bed, intro, outro, montage cue or full vocal song.
  • Energy curve: quiet opening, steady middle, lift for the reveal, clean ending.
  • Sound: name instruments, broad genre, tempo feel and whether vocals should be absent.
  • Timing: state the intended runtime and mark where the edit needs a loop, hit or transition. Treat this as a target; the product may generate a different length.
  • Rights: decide whether the channel is monetized, sponsored or client-owned before choosing a plan.

Example brief: “Instrumental electronic background for a six-minute coding tutorial, warm synth pad, restrained kick, light arpeggio, no vocals, low intensity under narration, a short resolving ending.”

2. Choose A Generator That Fits The Job

Tool Useful documented capabilities Plan and rights checkpoints
Suno Complete songs with vocals, lyrics and instrumentation; editing, remixing, extensions, section replacement and stem export. Free plan has 50 credits per day and no commercial rights. Paid plans start at $8/month; Pro allows 20 song downloads per month.
Eleven Music Full songs, AI vocals, lyrics or instrumentals; section editing, inpainting, genre transitions, references, stems and MP3/WAV export. Free plan is personal use and has 10,000 credits/month. Paid starts at $6/month; commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV and studio games, so check YouTube terms for your plan.
Soundverse AI Beat Maker Complete instrumentals with drums, basslines, melodies and arrangements; WAV mix, separated stems and MIDI export. Free Tier starts with 1,000 tokens on signup. Creator & Pro includes commercial licenses.
Udio Prompt-led vocal or instrumental songs, lyric editing, voice references, style shaping, extension, transformation and Sessions timeline editing. Free plan has 10 daily and 100 monthly credits. Audio, video and stem downloads are disabled during its transition period, so verify export availability before building a project around it.
Loudly Generates songs with vocals, lyrics and structured controls; remixes audio, exports separated stems, masters and distributes to streaming and social platforms. Free generated tracks are limited to 30 seconds. Paid plans add downloads and commercial licensing, subject to their plan terms.
Mubert Long-form instrumental tracks from text, images, mood, genre and BPM; paid plans support tracks up to 25 minutes and lossless WAV. Ambassador allows 25 tracks and 5 MP3 downloads per month. Creator is non-commercial; commercial use starts with Pro.
AIVA Style generation in more than 250 styles, custom style models, audio or MIDI influences and editable generated tracks. Free is non-commercial with 3 downloads/month and a three-minute maximum. Vocal generation is unavailable; Standard limits monetization to specified social platforms.

3. Generate The First Candidates

  1. Paste the brief into the tool’s text prompt or describe the same constraints using its controls.
  2. Make separate versions for narration and for music-led sections. Ask for an instrumental when spoken words must stay clear; request vocals only when they serve the video.
  3. Keep a small log of prompt, model or plan, date, candidate name and intended video. This preserves the information you will need when revising or checking rights.
  4. Render multiple candidates and audition them against the actual cut, especially the first 15 seconds and every voiceover entrance.

Prompt For A Narrated Tutorial

“Instrumental lo-fi electronic, soft drums, muted bass, gentle plucked synth, even energy for spoken narration, no vocals, no abrupt fills, finish with a two-bar resolution.”

Prompt For A Product Demonstration

“Instrumental modern tech underscore, pulsing arpeggio, crisp percussion, gradual lift at the midpoint, space for interface sound effects, confident ending.”

Prompt For A Channel Intro

“Short upbeat electronic theme, bright synth hook, clean impact at the start, memorable four-note motif, decisive ending, no vocals.”

These are creative instructions, not guaranteed output specifications. Use the editor controls each product documents, and check the generated audio before committing to a cut.

4. Edit The Arrangement Around Your Edit

  1. Place the candidate under the video and lower it until narration remains intelligible.
  2. Cut or replace sections at chapter changes, reveals and calls to action. Suno and Eleven Music document section editing; Suno also documents extensions and stem export, while Eleven Music documents inpainting and stems.
  3. For instrumental control, Soundverse can export separated stems and MIDI; Suno, Eleven Music and Loudly document stem workflows. If your selected plan does not include the needed export, choose another candidate or verify the vendor’s current offering.
  4. Create a deliberate ending rather than letting the track stop under dialogue. If the generator cannot make the exact ending, edit the exported audio in your video editor.

5. Export And Keep A Rights Record

  1. Export the highest format your plan provides and your editor accepts. Documented examples include WAV from Soundverse, Eleven Music and Mubert, plus MP3 options across several tools.
  2. Save the prompt, source project, export file, plan name, invoice or subscription record and the product’s current license page.
  3. Check whether the plan covers commercial YouTube use, client work, sponsorships and Content ID. A free tier without commercial rights cannot be treated as monetization-cleared.
  4. If you use a voice, uploaded audio or a reference recording, obtain the necessary consent and confirm the product’s and YouTube’s rules for that material. Do not present a generated voice as a real person’s voice without permission.

6. Publish Without Surprises

  • Listen on headphones and phone speakers for clicks, harsh high frequencies and masking under speech.
  • Check the complete video for accidental lyrical phrases, spoken names or artifacts that conflict with the channel.
  • Keep attribution or license text when the selected plan requires it; the supplied product details do not establish one universal attribution rule.
  • Recheck the vendor’s current terms before a sponsored upload or client delivery because plan rights and export availability can change.

Which Workflow Should You Start With?

Choose Suno or Eleven Music when you need a complete vocal or instrumental song with section-level editing. Choose Soundverse when stems or MIDI will be part of your edit. Choose Mubert for long instrumental beds, or AIVA when style models and MIDI/audio influence matter. Use Loudly when remixing, mastering or distribution tools are part of the same workflow. Treat Udio as a prompt-and-edit workspace until its download status is confirmed.
