Make The Cover In Steps
- Prepare an authorized source. Choose a vocal take you have permission to process and a song recording or instrumental you are allowed to use. Keep the vocal and instrumental separate if you already have stems; otherwise, use a stem separator and confirm that your plan allows full downloads.
- Shape the performance for the sound you want. As a creative direction, try a sparse, clipped delivery with short phrases, deliberate pauses, and space between lines. Before uploading audio or releasing a cover, review the chosen service’s current terms for voice models, uploaded material, downloads, and commercial use. Singify’s directory information specifically says commercial use is restricted under its service terms; that restriction does not say whether a particular project is allowed. The information for Applio and LALAL.AI here does not establish a license for a Carti voice or for the source song, so check their sites and the relevant rights-holder terms.

Spotify’s September 2025 announcement says vocal impersonation is allowed only with authorization from the impersonated artist. It also describes AI disclosures in credits through DDEX.
