To make a pop song with AI, write a short song brief, generate lyric and vocal ideas, build an editable instrumental, arrange the sections, export stems, and check each platform’s usage terms before release. A practical combination is Suno or Udio for song sketches, Beat Shaper or Soundverse AI Beat Maker for the instrumental, and Loudly for mastering and distribution.

Follow The Pop Song Workflow
- Write the song brief before opening a generator. Write the target tempo range, emotional angle, vocal perspective, section order, and three reference adjectives. For example: “Upbeat pop, 116 BPM, first-person chorus about starting over, verse-pre-chorus-chorus, bright and urgent.” Keep the brief original; do not ask a model to copy a named performer.
- Draft lyrics with a clear pop structure. In Mureka, start from text or lyrics and specify the sections you need. Alternatively, use Suno to generate a song from a lyric idea, or Udio when you want to edit lyrics while shaping the vocal result. Label each section explicitly so later edits have a stable map.
- Generate several short song sketches. Paste the same brief into Suno, Udio, and Eleven Music. Request a vocal pop demo and keep the lyric text under your control. Save the versions whose chorus melody, vocal phrasing, and section timing fit the brief. Eleven Music supports section editing and inpainting, while Udio supports extensions and transformations for developing a promising sketch.
- Build an editable instrumental when the demo needs more control. Open Beat Shaper and set the genre, mood, energy, and syncopation controls. Generate drums, basslines, synths, loops, and an arrangement, then correct notes in its piano roll. If you are working on a phone or want a complete instrumental with MIDI and stems, use Soundverse AI Beat Maker instead.
- Match the instrumental to the vocal sections. Align the intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, and outro lengths with your selected vocal demo. Extend or replace sections in Suno, Udio, Eleven Music, or Mureka where supported. In Beat Shaper, edit the piano roll and arrangement so the chorus gains density and the verse leaves space for the vocal.
- Try alternate vocal directions without assuming identity rights. Generate another take with a different vocal description, or use Udio’s voice-reference controls and Mureka’s voice-generation or voice-cloning features when the service permits it. Use only your own voice or a voice for which you have permission. For covers or uploaded reference audio, obtain the necessary consent and follow the platform’s terms before publishing.
- Export the parts you will actually mix. Use Suno, Eleven Music, Mureka, Beat Shaper, or Soundverse AI Beat Maker for stems where your selected plan provides them. Choose WAV when your plan offers it, and keep MIDI from Beat Shaper or Soundverse AI Beat Maker if you want to change notes in a DAW. Udio currently disables audio, video, and stem downloads during its transition period, so treat Udio projects as in-app working material until its download status changes.
- Make a clean mix and master. Balance the vocal, drums, bass, and synth stems in your DAW or the multitrack editor supplied by your chosen service. Then use Loudly for mastering and effects, or for remixing an uploaded track. Loudly also lists distribution to streaming and social platforms, so check its current plan terms before sending a release.
- Run a release rights check before sharing the song. Record the generator, plan, date, lyric source, vocal source, and downloaded files for each part. Suno’s Free Plan does not include commercial rights; Eleven Music’s Free plan is personal use; SongMusic.ai limits commercial use to Professional-plan work; Beat Shaper Starter downloads are MP3 and non-commercial; and Loudly says paid licensing depends on plan terms. Soundverse AI Beat Maker lists commercial licenses for Creator & Pro. Read the applicable terms for any other plan, voice, cover, sample, or uploaded audio before monetising or distributing.
Practical Pop Arrangement Checks
- Verse: Reduce competing layers so the lyric remains intelligible.
- Pre-chorus: Add motion with a rising bass, percussion pattern, or synth layer.
- Chorus: Compare the chorus stem balance against the verse and make the hook the clearest section.
- Bridge: Use section replacement, inpainting, remixing, or a new instrumental variation to create contrast.
- Final export: Keep the full mix, separated stems, and MIDI files together with the plan and rights notes you recorded.
What To Do When A Generation Misses The Brief
Change one variable at a time. First revise the lyric or section labels, then adjust the style and energy description, then replace only the weak section. Suno, Udio, Eleven Music, and Mureka each provide editing, extension, transformation, or section-level controls that let you preserve a useful chorus while regenerating a verse or bridge. If the arrangement is the problem, rebuild the instrumental in Beat Shaper or Soundverse AI Beat Maker and keep the vocal as a separate reference.
