Life is not just not living someone’s others way. Sometimes you have to do things for you or for this world. And Jeff Bezos did it. He gifted this world an online colossal empire named Amazon. While we all are cozy sitting in our blanket and ordering things, someday he was struggling for this dream.
Jeff Bezos, the man behind Amazon was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Jacklyn Gise Jorgensen and Ted Jorgensen. While he was able to realize anything, his parents broke up just after a year of their marriage. And when he reached his 5th year of his life his mother remarried Miguel Bezos, the man who gave Jeffrey his surname and legally adopted him as his son. Young Bezos was sent to River Oaks Elementary school in Houston.
During his early years, he showed intense interest in sciences. He once made an electric alarm to keep his younger siblings out of his room. His parents’ garage was transformed to his laboratory where he would carry out several science projects. He planned to study Physics at Princeton University but can’t resist his love for computers and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and computer science.
After graduating from Princeton University in 1986 he did several jobs to fill his stomach which I think didn’t appealed him much. He then finally founded Amazon.com in 1994 which was just an idea that popped up in his mind while making cross country drive from New York to Seattle. He then decided to set up the company in his garage and the first book by Amazon was shipped from Bezos garage. Amazon soon turned him into a most efficient CEO and a billionaire. Bezos’ salary as CEO in 2010 was $81,840 including $1.6 million cost of his personal security detail.
His hard work and innovation was sure to get him somewhere. He was named TIME magazine’s person of the year in 2000. And later was awarded with honorary doctorate in Science and Technology.
This was the man who gave us the comfort of shopping anything in our blanket. The wonders aren’t created by nature, they are created by man. We just need to realize the hidden potential in us.
Please share this post in respect of this man’s hard work and innovation.
