99Pledges is web-based fundraising software for schools, teams, youth organizations, and nonprofits running a-thon events. Organizers can build a campaign themselves or have 99Pledges set it up for free. Each participant gets a personal donation page to share by email, text, Facebook, or X. Donors can pay by card, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, while organizers can record cash and check donations. Real-time reports track participation, leaderboard rankings, and progress toward goals, and funds are sent within one business day after an event ends. Organizations receive a dedicated fundraising coach, with live chat typically replying within minutes. The free plan has no contracts, subscriptions, or fundraising minimums, but charges 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction. 99Pledges says it uses Braintree, a Level 1 PCI DSS compliant payment provider, and follows COPPA requirements, including using children’s first names and last initials. Its pages for schools and students are accessible only through direct links. The service is limited to U.S. organizations, except U.S. military-based schools abroad.
