The record

What it does: CamDeck composites image or video overlays, a live lower-third bar, and camera effects into a virtual camera feed for compatible Mac apps.
Intended users: The maker says CamDeck was built for live video podcasts, online gaming streams, and everyday video calls.
Overlays: Users can add images or video clips by dragging them in, pasting an image URL, or using the clipboard, and organize items into folders.
Lower thirds: The lower-third bar supports typed text, presets, and Weather, Now Playing, RSS, Video Title, and Countdown modes.
Integrations: CamDeck is described as working with Zoom, Google Meet, QuickTime, and most apps that can select a Mac camera; its Now Playing mode reads Spotify or Apple Music.
Effects: CamDeck includes 20 real-time camera effects, and the maker says they can be switched while the camera is running.
Emergency cutaway: Emergency Slide switches the output to a full-screen standby image while the camera continues running underneath.
Privacy: The maker says the app has no accounts or background telemetry, stores its library and settings locally, and processes camera video on the Mac.
Camera and microphone: The privacy policy says CamDeck does not access the microphone and sends the camera feed only to the app selected as its camera source.
Security: The maker says CamDeck is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, and that macOS Gatekeeper allows it to open normally.
Platform and distribution: CamDeck is a native Mac app distributed directly as a signed, notarized DMG; the maker says it does not build a Windows version.
Compatibility limits: CamDeck does not work with FaceTime, which the maker attributes to Apple's restriction on third-party virtual cameras.
System compatibility: The maker says CamDeck is tested on macOS Tahoe 26.5.1 and is not compatible with macOS betas yet.
Support: The maker provides a Help & Support walkthrough and a contact form for questions, bug reports, or ideas.
