The record

Purpose: CheckHacks is a server-side anticheat that detects client-side mods and hack clients using the Sign Translation Vulnerability.
No client install: Players do not need to download or install a client mod.
Detection method: The plugin briefly places signs with special translation keys and checks how the player's client responds.
Detection modes: It supports METEOR, TRANSLATE, and KEYBIND detection modes, selected for each mod.
False positive checks: DoubleCheck repeats scans that return DETECTED or PROTECTED to help reduce false positives.
Custom detections: Administrators can add custom mods to detect in checkhacks.yml.
Anticheat integrations: It hooks into Grim, Vulcan, Spartan, and Matrix to check players after those anticheats flag them.
Discord integration: It supports separate Discord webhooks for hack checks and language checks, with a Components V2 option.
Web editor: The web editor runs on the game server and lets administrators review scan history, look up players, and start checks in a browser.
Web editor access: The web editor uses one-time tokens generated with /cheditor rather than a shared password.
Scan history: Scans are saved in a built-in SQLite database without requiring separate setup.
Compatibility: The Modrinth listing names Bukkit, Folia, Paper, Purpur, and Spigot as supported platforms.
Notable limitation: The maker says mod developers can patch clients to block the detection method, which can temporarily stop detection for those clients.
Support: The maker directs users to Discord for help, feature requests, and requests to add mods.
