DRS Nova

Purpose: DRS Nova is digital film restoration software for production-grade automated, manual, and generative AI restoration workflows.
Frame generation: MTai FrameGen recreates missing frames from jump cuts and frame slugs and can replace highly damaged frames using an interpolation model trained by MTI Film.
Defect repair: SHINE and AutoFilter automatically detect and repair dust and defects, and SHINE supports dirt and fleeting scratch replacement.
Stabilization: Manual and automated tools address jitter, gate weave, splice bumps, and other stabilization issues.
Paint workflow: NOVA Paint can play two clips simultaneously at different frame rates and paint from a source clip to a destination clip.
Other restoration tools: The toolset includes grain control, deflicker, scratch removal, dewarping, and three-layer registration.
Resolution support: The product page says SHINE supports higher resolutions up to 6K for Vista Vision support.
Trial: The maker offers a free 30-day trial and says no credit card is needed.
Windows hardware: The maker lists Windows 10 or 11, at least 128 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GTX 3080 Ti with at least 16 GB onboard memory as recommended hardware requirements.
AI support limit: MTai is included in year-one support, and failure to renew support limits MTai FrameGen functionality after year one.
Support: Technical support is available by email and on MTI Film’s Support Forum, with a stated response time of 24 hours or sooner.
Privacy and security: MTI Film says it uses technical and organizational security measures to protect personal information, while noting it cannot guarantee complete security of internet transmissions or storage.
Privacy retention: MTI Film’s privacy notice says personal information is retained only as long as needed, and that no purpose in the notice requires retention longer than one year.
Intended users: MTI Film describes its restoration and workflow software as used by studios, productions, post houses, and film archives around the globe.
