The record

What it does: FFR randomizes the original USA edition of the 8-bit NES Final Fantasy game.
Randomized content: It can shuffle key item locations, monster and fiend difficulty, towns, and dungeons.
Default preset: The Default flag set shuffles magic shop contents and some key item locations, and gives early access to certain places and non-player characters.
Beginner option: The Improved Vanilla preset is described as a bug-fixed and sped-up version of the original game intended to be friendly for new players.
ROM requirement: The randomizer requires a USA edition NES ROM; the About page recommends using a legally owned copy and does not provide a download link.
Play options: The maker recommends the BizHawk and FCEUX emulators and says some players use original NES hardware with an emulation cartridge.
Community support: The maker directs players to its Community Discord to ask questions, get help, and connect with other players.
Flag presets: The randomizer page offers presets including Beginner, Improved Vanilla, Floor and Entrance Shuffle, Shard Hunt, Chaos Rush, and Chaos Rampage.
Seed generation: The randomizer page provides controls to upload a ROM, set a seed and flags, and generate a ROM or spoiler log.
Customization: The page offers optional settings such as music shuffle, palette options, accessible spell names, and custom player sprites.
ROM compatibility: The randomizer currently operates on the US version of the ROM only.
Runs in browser: The web interface runs the .NET application in the browser, so randomization runs on the user's computer without requiring a download or installation.
Generate a randomized ROM: The interface lets users upload a ROM, choose a seed and flags, and generate a ROM file.
Presets: Listed standard presets include Beginner, Improved Vanilla, Floor and Entrance Shuffle, Shard Hunt, Chaos Rush, and Chaos Rampage.
