The record

Purpose: ghostmeet captures audio from a browser tab, transcribes it with Whisper, and generates meeting summaries on demand.
Live captions: Whisper transcription updates captions every 10 seconds.
Summaries: On-demand summaries include key decisions, action items, and next steps, and require an Anthropic API key.
Audio privacy: Audio is captured and transcribed locally; when summarization is enabled, transcript text is sent to the Claude API, but audio is not.
Browser support: It runs as a Chrome side panel extension and supports browser tabs that play audio; native Zoom and Teams desktop apps are not supported.
Integrations: The maker lists Google Meet, Zoom Web, Microsoft Teams Web, Discord, Around, and Whereby as supported audio sources.
Meeting context: Users can attach an agenda, design document, or prior transcript for the summarizer to read.
Storage: Transcripts are written to SQLite as they arrive and survive a backend restart.
Offline use: Whisper transcription works offline, while summarization requires an internet connection to reach the Claude API.
Setup: The maker documents Docker Compose setup and a manual install using Python 3.10 or later.
API: The backend exposes HTTP endpoints for sessions, transcripts, and summaries, plus WebSocket endpoints for audio ingest and live transcripts.
Integration: ghostmeet can be used as an OpenClaw skill for listing sessions, retrieving transcripts, and generating summaries; recording is controlled through the Chrome extension.
Not yet available: Speaker diarization is listed as a roadmap feature; current captions use a single speaker label per chunk.
License: The maker identifies ghostmeet as open source under the MIT license.
