The record

Purpose: Humla is an open-source AI notepad for Mac that records meetings and produces recaps.
Recording: It records both sides through macOS without a bot joining the call, and fills in a live transcript.
Summaries: Users can choose summary presets or custom prompts to create outputs such as client recaps and action lists.
Meeting history chat: Chat searches meeting history and answers with citations linking back to source notes.
AI options: The app supports on-device Whisper and speaker ID, or OpenAI, Deepgram, and Groq using the user's own key.
Integrations: The site lists OpenAI, Deepgram, Groq, and Ollama as provider or local-model options; it says the product has no app integrations such as Slack or CRM.
Privacy and security: The site says local transcription and summaries can stay on the Mac, and API keys are stored in the macOS Keychain rather than plaintext.
Data collection: Humla says it sends a few anonymous setup counters at most once per install, with no identifier or meeting data, and the counters can be disabled in settings.
Team sync: Humla Cloud syncs notes and shares workspaces while transcription and summaries run on the user's providers or device; it does not sync keys.
Self-hosting: Teams can use their own PocketBase server to get all team features without a subscription and keep data in their own region and storage.
Notable limit: Humla currently runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 13 or later; the site says there is no Windows or web version yet.
Supported languages: The site says Humla handles around 100 languages supported by Whisper, plus a local Norwegian model.
Maker: The site describes Humla as made with care in Norway.
