Purpose: KubeInvaders is a gamified chaos engineering and educational tool for learning about Kubernetes resilience by attacking pods or nodes and observing the cluster.
Demo mode: The container includes a simulated Kubernetes cluster powered by KWOK, where nodes and pods are simulated and nothing real is deleted.
Cluster connection: Users can connect a real cluster through the web console or container environment variables using an API endpoint, ServiceAccount token, namespaces, and optionally a CA certificate.
Runtime: KubeInvaders runs as a container with Podman or Docker.
Helm support: The current project README says an official Helm chart is not supported, though the legacy chart may be used as a starting point.
Monitoring: Its documentation lists URL monitoring during chaos sessions and Prometheus metrics with a Grafana dashboard.
Security: The README says a missing, invalid, or expired token prevents KubeInvaders from calling the Kubernetes API, and warns that DISABLE_TLS=true skips API server certificate verification.
License: KubeInvaders is licensed under Apache 2.0.
Audience: The project describes uses including Kubernetes teaching, resilience testing, and demonstrations at technology conferences.
Community support: The README directs users to Twitter accounts for news, bugs, feature requests, and other issues.
