The record

Purpose: KudoWrite describes itself as an AI co-writer for fiction that helps write a novel one beat at a time while retaining story context.
Drafting workflow: Writers sketch a beat, have AI write it in their voice, revise or expand it, then commit it so the story memory updates.
Story memory: The app offers a story bible that fills in as the writer works, a running book summary, and chapter context that can carry from chapter 1 to chapter 30.
Chat: Writers can talk through a problem with a chat that has read every page.
Content and length: The site says it supports romance, horror, dark and explicit fiction, and stories up to 300,000 words.
Browser app: The terms describe KudoWrite as a browser-based fiction-writing tool for drafting, rewriting and expanding prose with AI models.
Model providers: Users supply their own OpenRouter or Mistral API key and choose the models they want to run.
Model integrations: The app lets users paste a custom model ID from OpenRouter or Mistral and add it to their model list.
Data storage: The privacy policy says account data and writing are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase in Ireland, with row-level security and TLS encryption in transit.
AI request privacy: The policy says prompts and model responses go directly from the browser to the selected provider and do not pass through or get logged by KudoWrite servers.
API key security: The policy says provider API keys are encrypted at rest and sent from the browser directly to the selected provider when an AI feature is used.
Training and provider policies: KudoWrite says it does not train models on users’ writing; whether the chosen provider uses prompts or outputs for training depends on that provider and model.
Data deletion and export: Users can delete projects or all writing in the app, and can email support to request account deletion or a JSON copy of their data.
Age requirement: The terms require users to be at least 18 years old and prohibit generating sexual content involving minors.
