The record

Purpose: LWT is a web app for language learning in which users read texts, optionally listen to audio, and save, review, and test words and expressions.
Text learning: Uploaded texts are split into sentences and words, with saved terms and their learning statuses shown in later texts.
Term length: Users can save words or expressions of two to nine words with translations, optional romanization, and an example sentence.
Practice: The app includes term tests, context-based tests, Massive-Context Cloze Deletion testing, and a statistics page.
Dictionaries: Users configure web dictionary links, and the documentation describes a Glosbe API integration for transferring translations into LWT.
Exports and imports: Terms can be imported in CSV or TSV format, exported as TSV, or exported to Anki for cloze tests.
Audio: Users can associate an MP3 audio URL with a text to listen while reading; the app does not provide an audio-file import or upload function.
Deployment: LWT requires a modern browser and a local web and database server with PHP; the maker lists XAMPP, MAMP, and LAMP as examples.
Desktop systems: The maker provides installation instructions for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and notes that the macOS instructions and app could not be tested by the maker.
Compatibility limit: Texts and vocabulary terms containing Unicode characters above U+FFFF are unsupported; the page says emojis and some historic scripts and symbols are affected.
Security and warranty: The software is provided as-is without warranty, and the maker says third-party projects using the public-domain code are not maintained or endorsed by them.
Support: The maker invites users to report problems and send feedback and ideas, and describes LWT as a one-person hobby project.
Intended users: The maker describes LWT as a tool for language learners who bring their own texts and optionally audio for reading and vocabulary practice.
