Purpose: LibreAvatrak is a lightweight, single-camera facial motion capture tool for VTubers and virtual avatar creators.
Face tracking: It uses MediaPipe to detect face landmarks and calculate head pitch, yaw, and roll.
Expressions: It extracts eye openness using EAR and mouth movement using MAR.
Camera processing: The project lists OpenCV for camera video capture and image processing.
Avatar animation: Tracking data streams to Godot to animate VRM humanoid avatars in real time.
Data API: Its Python and Flask multiprocess tracking backend provides a low-latency HTTP data API.
Requirements: The setup instructions call for a Python environment and Godot Editor 4.6.
License: LibreAvatrak is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.
Network source sharing: The project says modified instances or publicly accessible network services must share their modified source code.
Commercial use: The project permits creators to earn revenue from content made with the software, including VTuber streaming and commercial production.
Restrictions: The project says users may not modify and close the source, package and sell the software, or build paid cloud motion capture services based on it.
Character setup: The instructions describe loading a VRM file in Godot and saving the replacement character scene as .scn rather than .tscn.
