The record

Product: MeetingBro is an open-source, local-first AI meeting assistant for live transcription, translation, and meeting summaries.
Summaries and notes: It produces rolling summaries and a Meeting Board with topics, decisions, action items, and open questions, and can export transcripts and notes to Markdown.
Languages: Live translation and optional translated subtitles are described for Chinese, English, and German.
Meeting compatibility: It captures computer audio rather than connecting to meeting APIs, and the README says it works with Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, BBB, and other platforms.
Audio capture limits: Microphone capture is supported on Windows, macOS, and Linux; system audio is native on Windows and requires loopback setup on macOS and Linux.
LLM integrations: Optional summary and translation providers listed include OpenAI, Groq, Mistral AI, OpenRouter, Together AI, Ollama, and AWS Bedrock via a proxy.
Privacy: Audio capture and Whisper transcription run locally; only transcript text is sent to the configured LLM provider, and using Ollama keeps data on-device.
No-key operation: Transcription does not require an API key; without an LLM configured, summaries fall back to local heuristics.
Fast captions: An optional streaming preview can show captions in about 1.5 seconds using the existing Whisper model, with the main transcript correcting the preview.
Intended users: The project lists students, professionals meeting in a second language, researchers needing multilingual transcripts, privacy-conscious users, and developers as intended users.
Requirements: The installation instructions require Python and Node.js, and the README says the Whisper model downloads automatically on first run.
License: The repository identifies MeetingBro as MIT-licensed open-source software.
Purpose: MeetingBro is an open-source, local-first AI meeting assistant for live transcription, translation, and meeting summaries.
Exports and history: Users can export transcripts, summaries, and notes to Markdown and revisit, re-export, or delete past meetings in the in-app history browser.
