The record

Purpose: Outliner organizes shopping lists, tasks, to-do lists, ideas, memos, and small projects in a collapsible tree structure.
Outlines: Users can create an unlimited number of outlines, each made up of titled activities that can have notes and due dates.
Views: Outlines can be viewed as a tree, to-do list, due-date list, or hashtag-grouped list; some views require PRO.
Editing: Activities can be reordered and indented, and PRO adds subtree cut, copy, paste, sorting, and sharing actions.
Search: PRO search finds terms in activity names and notes, across all outlines or within the open outline.
Notes: PRO supports formatted activity notes, including bold, italic, font color, and font size.
Integrations: PRO can sync with Google Tasks and Dropbox; the tutorial also documents Treeline and OPML synchronization options.
File formats: Import and export formats include OPML, HTML (PRO), text, Bonsai CSV/OTL, Treepad HJT, and Treeline TRLN.
Free version: The maker says the free version has no ads, supports basic needs, and sends no data to any server by default.
PRO access: PRO features are enabled by additionally installing the Outliner Pro Key app, and one purchased Play Store account can install the key on multiple Android devices.
Privacy: Unless cloud sync is explicitly configured, the app says it sends no data to external servers.
Security: The maker says local outlines are stored in Android internal flash memory and are protected by Android security mechanisms if the phone is not rooted and is password- or PIN-protected.
Backup limitation: The tutorial warns that SD-card backups are unencrypted and may be exposed if the phone is lost; Dropbox backups are also unencrypted.
Sync limitation: Google Tasks officially supports only two levels, and the maker warns that its experimental multilevel sync can be removed and flatten outlines.
