Purpose: PDF2flip is a free, open source application that turns PDFs into page-turning digital books.
PDF sources: You can read a PDF stored on your computer or one available on the internet.
Notes: You can create notes while reading and export them afterward.
Sharing requirement: To share a PDF from your computer, first place it online at a public direct file link; the repository gives Nuage via Apps Éducation as an example.
Display options: URL parameters can open a specific page, show one page at a time, limit the book to a page, or hide interface controls.
CORS: PDF2flip automatically uses a CORS proxy when a PDF cannot be accessed directly; configuring CORS on the PDF server is recommended when you control it.
License: The project is distributed under the GPL; modified redistributed versions must use the same license.
Underlying software: PDF2flip is based on Paginis and uses the lite version of the dflip library.
Support: The project invites users to suggest features, report bugs, and discuss its development through tickets or email.
Audience: The project describes itself as an application for turning PDFs into digital books; the opened pages do not state a narrower intended audience.
