The record

What it does: ProofUp provides AI-assisted tenant screening for multifamily operators, including income and employment verification, identity verification, document fraud detection, and related risk signals.
Identity checks: The applicant photographs both sides of a government-issued ID and takes a live selfie for a match check.
Document fraud checks: For uploaded files, ProofUp checks for hidden data layers, post-creation edits, metadata mismatches, known fake generator signatures, and inconsistent earnings math.
Decision support: The dashboard presents Pass, Flag, or Fail results with specific signals and a full audit trail for each decision.
Processing time: ProofUp says an application decision is delivered within 2–3 minutes.
Applicant access: Applicants open a screening link in a browser, with no app or account required, and the page says it works in any mobile browser.
Integrations: The site identifies Plaid for bank and payroll connections; it says reports attach to the applicant file in the customer’s property management software but does not name specific systems.
Security and privacy: ProofUp says sensitive data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted to authorized personnel, and applicant data is not sold.
Data sharing: The privacy policy says screening results are shared only with the property management company that initiated the screening, with Plaid and cloud hosting listed as subprocessors.
Decision limits: ProofUp describes its screening outputs as advisory and probabilistic, says they may be incomplete or inaccurate, and requires meaningful human review for housing decisions.
Intended customers: ProofUp says it is built for mid-market and regional property management portfolios over 500 units.
Support and sales: The site offers a live demo and says it will respond to demo requests within one business day; it lists [email protected] for direct contact.
Company background: ProofUp says it was built inside a property management company and is part of Rex Tech Ventures.
Headquarters: Austin, TX
