The record

Product: Samurai Scribe is a Markdown-first AI meeting notetaker that creates speaker-labeled transcripts and AI summaries on the user's computer.
Dictation: It provides system-wide dictation that transcribes and polishes speech locally for pasting into other applications.
Recording: The app records system audio and microphone feeds directly at the operating-system layer, without meeting bots joining calls.
Speaker detection: On-device speaker detection tracks individual speaker turns locally, and the app offers speaker identification and analytics.
Notes and scripts: Meetings are saved as Markdown files in a folder the user chooses, and custom Rhai scripts can process transcripts and create documents.
Calendar integration: The app syncs with Google Calendar via OAuth or calendars that provide an ICS feed, and stores synced calendar data locally.
Media downloader: Its built-in downloader supports more than 1,000 sites, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Vimeo and podcast feeds, and transcribes downloaded media locally.
Languages: The site says Whisper supports 99 languages, with automatic spoken-language detection and an optional Translate to English feature.
Security and privacy: The maker says recordings, transcripts, summaries and other user data stay on the device; after models are downloaded, recording, transcription, speaker labels and summaries work with Wi-Fi off.
Network requests: The site lists update checks, optional update downloads, first-run model downloads and Pro license checks as app network requests, with calendar sync when connected.
Support: Pro includes lifetime updates and license support, and the purchase has a 7-day money-back guarantee.
License limit: A Samurai Scribe license can be activated on up to 2 machines simultaneously.
System requirements: The stated minimum is 8 GB RAM; the site lists macOS 13 or higher for system-audio capture and Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, while an Intel Mac build is not available yet.
Linux availability: The maker says a Linux version is not available yet.
