Scholarcy

Purpose: Scholarcy turns research documents into interactive summary flashcards that highlight key information and provide context.
Supported content: The summarizer accepts research papers, PDFs, book chapters, online articles, plain text, and YouTube videos.
Import methods: Users can drag and drop files, enter a page URL, paste text, or use a browser extension.
Summary styles: Enhanced summaries can be adjusted to reading styles including School level, General reader, Bulleted list, Undergrad level, One liner, and Researcher.
Research analysis: Features include cited-work findings, article prompts and questions, a Research Quality Indicator, and comparisons with related research.
Integrations: Scholarcy supports direct import from Zotero and exports referenced summaries to Markdown for knowledge managers such as Roam, Obsidian, and Notion.
Browser support: Browser extensions are offered for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox; Safari is listed as coming soon.
Document limitation: Scanned PDFs without extractable text are not supported; the maker recommends running OCR first.
Access limitation: A URL behind a paywall may not import, and Scholarcy suggests downloading and uploading the PDF instead if the user has access.

Hosting: Scholarcy says its services are hosted on Amazon Web Services and use security protocols provided within the AWS ecosystem.
Privacy and deletion: Users can request deletion of account data, summaries, and settings, while invoice records are retained for seven years for compliance reasons.
Support: The pricing page directs users to its contact page or [email protected] for help.
Intended audience: The maker describes Scholarcy as a tool for students and researchers handling papers, chapters, and collections of research articles.
