SetPrep

What it does: SetPrep is a desktop app that reads a DJ music library and plans a full set in a chosen mixing style.
Set planning: It returns an ordered set with an energy-arc role for each track, a transition note, and a plain-English explanation of each track choice.
DJ app support: It reads libraries from Rekordbox, Serato, or Traktor, and can also read a folder of audio files in folder mode.
Library writeback: It writes colour codes, transition notes, and star ratings directly to Rekordbox, Serato, or Traktor.
Mixing styles: The app includes ten built-in mixing-style templates based on analysis of real artist sets.
Library tools: It includes de-duplication, missing-file finding, filename repair, and forgotten-gem discovery.
Platforms and access: The beta is live on Mac with Apple Silicon and Intel, and Windows with x64 and ARM64; downloads are invite-gated.
Free plan limit: The free tier allows three generated mixes per calendar month, resetting on the first at local midnight.
Coming soon: Hot cues, loops, memory cues, and structural cues are described as coming soon.
Support: Users can contact SetPrep at [email protected] or post in its forum; Free includes email support and Pro includes priority email support.
Library privacy: The privacy policy says music-library data and generated mix plans are not retained by SetPrep, and that the music library stays on the user's computer.
AI and providers: Mix-planning prompts are sent to Anthropic's API; the policy also lists Polar for payments, Resend for transactional email, and Fly.io for hosting.
Security and data rights: The policy says passwords are stored using PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256, account and forum data are hosted in Fly.io's London region encrypted at rest, and UK and EU users can request access, correction, or deletion.
Maker and location: SetPrep is operated by Chris Seller as a sole trader; the pages opened do not state an headquarters or founding year.
