Purpose: squaremap is a lightweight live world map viewer for Minecraft servers that generates a map viewable in a web browser.
Map style: The map uses a vanilla-like top-down 2D view designed for navigation.
Player markers: Player markers can show yaw rotation, health, and armor.
Rendering: The project describes its render times as ultra fast.
Supported platforms: The project lists Paper, Fabric, NeoForge, and Sponge, and says Fabric requires Fabric API.
Integrations: Listed integrations include ChunkyBorder, Heatmap, PlotSquared, Residence, Towny, and squaremap addon plugins for banners, claims, death spots, mobs, signs, skins, vanish, and WorldGuard.
Developer API: The API lets developers draw markers, shapes, and icons on rendered maps.
Hosting: squaremap includes an internal web server enabled by default, with port 8080 as its default port.
Hosting requirement: The installation guide notes that server hosts may restrict available ports and advises checking with the host.
Security configuration: The documentation recommends an external web server for more advanced setups such as SSL certificates.
License: The project is licensed under the MIT License, and its Leaflet web UI frontend is licensed under the 2-clause BSD License.
Downloads: The project directs users to Modrinth for downloads and provides development builds through its Jenkins job.
