The record

Purpose: Timex is a Mac menu bar app that automatically tracks app, window, and browser-tab activity, with a break timer and stay-awake mode.
Platform requirements: The homepage specifies macOS 15 or later and Apple Silicon; the refund policy says Intel Macs work with reduced battery efficiency in lid-down mode.
Tracking and reports: Activity is sampled once per second, with timeline views, app and window details, browser domain and URL details, and CSV export.
Focus scoring: Users can assign weights to categories and sites to calculate a personal 0–100 focus score.
Manual activity: Users can add manual entries for meetings, calls, and offline work, and can reconcile time away with an optional entry.
Privacy: The maker says activity stays in a local file on the Mac, with no account, telemetry endpoints, or outgoing network connection for activity data.
Data collected: Timex records the foreground app, window title, supported browser tab, and activity segment times; it says it does not access audio, keystrokes, mouse positions, screenshots, or clipboard contents.
Integrations: Timex includes an optional local MCP server for AI clients, and its setup instructions name Claude Code and Claude Desktop.
MCP access: The MCP server is off by default, listens on localhost by default, and requires a bearer token; a connected client can see recorded window titles and URLs.
Break timer: The break timer offers hydration, mindfulness, and body exercises and can use Pomodoro, hourly, or custom cadence.
Stay-awake limitation: With the Mac on battery and its lid closed, macOS force-sleeps, so Timex cannot keep jobs running in that condition.
Trial: The free trial includes 100 hours of recorded activity, requires no credit card, and has no time limit for evaluation.
Support and refunds: The refund policy says paid purchases are final, with a discretionary exception if an unresolved technical issue prevents operation on a supported Mac; it provides an email contact for support.
Maker: The site identifies Muvon Un Limited as the maker and lists its address as Suite C, Level 7, World Trust Tower, 50 Stanley Street, Central, Hong Kong.
