Treccani is a reference portal and app for exploring Italian-language knowledge. Its web portal brings together an online encyclopedia, vocabulary, synonyms, a biographical dictionary, a magazine, and Galassia Treccani. The app lets readers browse encyclopedia entries, encounter a new word each day, and read articles on Italian language, geopolitics, science, and society. Its online Dizionario Biografico contains more than 40,000 biographies of people who contributed to Italian history in different fields. Treccani’s Institute describes its mission as compiling, updating, publishing, and disseminating the Enciclopedia Italiana and related works for culture, education, research, and social service. The service is available on web, Android, and iOS, and the listed plan is free. Users can activate Zero pubblicità only in the app to browse the portal without ads across their devices; the subscription page advertises up to six months free, with duration selected in the app. A personal profile requires registration or sign-in. Treccani identifies its Institute as data controller and says its privacy measures address data security and confidentiality.
