What Walkmark is
Walkmark is free desktop software for recording workflows and turning screenshots into AI-written guides, onboarding documents, and tutorials. It captures screenshots when you click, type, or scroll in a recorded screen or window. Before writing a guide, you can reorder steps, blur sensitive fields, and replace frames. Exports include Markdown with an images folder, self-contained HTML, and print-ready PDF; Markdown is described for GitHub, Notion, Confluence, and internal wikis. Recording, editing, and exporting stay on your machine and work without a Walkmark account or its servers. When you run Write, screenshots and prompts go to the configured local model, API provider, or Walkmark Cloud when available. Listed AI options include Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, OpenRouter, Ollama, and custom endpoints. Provider keys are stored locally. Walkmark supports Linux, macOS, and Windows, with stated minimum versions for macOS and Windows.
Who it suits
It suits people creating customer-support material, internal onboarding, product how-tos, compliance documents, or standard operating procedures. Desktop users who want local recording and export can use it without an account.
