Reactoonz 2: Thumbs Up or Room for Improvement?

If you were a big fan of Play’n GO’s Reactoonz slot game, you may be wondering if Reactoonz 2 is a worthy successor. The sequel was released in 2020, three years after the launch of the original – and following long-running demands for another title, prompted by Reactoonz’ popularity and widespread appeal. But does Reactoonz 2 live up to the hype, or does it fall short of the mark?

Reactoonz 2: the nuts and bolts

Any players familiar with the original Reactoonz slot game will probably be relieved, upon first embarking on their Reactoonz 2 adventure, to find that some things have stayed the same.

For instance, Play’n GO has opted to keep the 7×7 format, although with the addition of two shiny new meters that start to go ballistic as you amass your cluster wins. The RTP has decreased slightly, to a still-respectable 96.2%, but the variance remains high.

You will also find the same one or two-eyed creatures as symbols on the paytable, allowing you to indulge in some nostalgia for the trail-blazing original. To achieve a win, players must trigger a combination of five of the same symbols, vertically or horizontally across the paytable, which will then activate the slot’s adrenaline-pumping cascade feature. Symbols continue to cascade through the reels until no new wins are achieved.

Fluctuating symbols are also a part of this feature. If they win, they will trigger the appearance of an electric wild, which will not only take their spot but will also fill up a space inside the slot’s Fluctometer. Between one and three of these electric wilds will be added to the grid when the Fluctometer is full.

Electric wilds have the ability to zap Reactoonz, and they can also replace any pay symbol. If they trigger the removal of a non-wild symbol, this charges the Quantumeter, with your goal being to collect between 55 and 135 charges. The number of charges you collect will determine if you unleash any Energoon or Gargantoon wilds. Confused yet? Wait ‘til you discover the Wild Pair Explosion Feature!

An opportunity for a big win

As well as giving you the opportunity to sample the nifty features we’ve just explained, Reactoonz 2 also gives players the chance to score a significant win. While the clusters you trigger during base play can bring between 3x and 500x your bet, the maximum win you can achieve is a whopping 5,083x your stake.

More bang for your buck?

When it came to creating the second installment of their hit slot game, Play’n GO seems to have stuck to a similar blueprint, but with the addition of even more excitement. The whimsical creatures fortunately haven’t changed and are still more than capable of raising a chuckle, while the gameplay is still as riveting as the original. If you are new to the Reactoonz phenomenon, however, the sheer complexity of the rules could leave you scratching your head – which is why it’s probably best to just dive right in and learn as you go along!

Possible befuddlement aside, there can be little doubt that Reactoonz 2 is a solid slot game release that doesn’t disappoint, even if it will never quite live up to the caliber of its predecessor.
