Finding like-minded people that went through the same stuff is important since it helps you better understand just what’s going on. They also may help you with different coping mechanisms to help you push through the hurt, and becoming a better person as well.
Talk things out with a Therapist
A therapist can help you sort through these feelings. Sometimes, if you talk to them, it can help with the trauma. A lot of people realize that talking to someone isn’t a sign of weakness, but a sign that they do need help, and it’s okay to seek out help, especially when you need it.
Consider EDMR Therapy
Finally, for severe cases, you may want to consider EDMR therapy, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy. This is used to help assess and process some traumatic events, especially memories. In turn, you’ll be able to create a solution in this case.
This is good for if you’re struggling with coming to terms with the distressing event, or you have negative beliefs or other problems associated with this. You essentially focus on these stimuli, and it helps you properly process such.

That in turn will help with the processing of the information, allowing you to create new links, helping you reduce your triggers, and help with functions as well.
