Choose Udio if prompt-led songs, lyric editing, voice references and timeline refinement matter most. Choose Loudly if you need remixing, mastering, separated stems and distribution tools in a web workflow. The biggest practical difference in 2026 is export: Udio says audio, video and stem downloads are disabled during its transition period, while Loudly documents downloads and stem exports but makes licensing depend on the plan.

Which Generator Fits Your Music Workflow?
Choose Udio For Prompt-Led Songs And Vocal Editing
Udio is the closer fit when the song itself is the creative brief. Start with a text prompt and lyrics, generate a vocal or instrumental version, then edit the lyrics, blend a voice reference, extend or transform the audio, and continue refining it in Sessions. This sequence suits creators who iterate on phrasing, vocal character and arrangement inside one project.
Example brief: “Create a restrained instrumental bed for a developer tutorial, with a clear opening, a lower-energy middle section under narration, and a clean ending.” Treat the result as a draft to shape in Sessions; Udio does not establish a particular genre, duration or delivery format in the supplied product details, so specify only musical requirements you can evaluate and check the current interface for additional controls.
Choose Loudly For Remixing, Mastering And Release Delivery
Loudly is better aligned with a production pipeline that starts from existing audio or ends with delivery. You can generate full songs with vocals and lyrics, remix uploaded audio, export separated stems, apply mastering and effects, and use its distribution tools for streaming and social platforms.

Prompt And Editing Differences
Udio’s Iterative Song And Voice Workflow
Udio combines prompt and lyric generation with post-generation changes. Its documented strengths are lyric edits, voice-reference blending, audio extension or transformation, and Sessions timeline refinement. That combination is useful when a developer or creator needs several alternate hooks, revised lines or a changed vocal feel without starting from zero.

Loudly’s Structured Production Workflow
Loudly emphasizes structured controls, remixing and finishing tools. A practical sequence is to generate a complete song, remix an uploaded idea when you have one, export stems for editing, then apply mastering and effects before distribution. The supplied details do not establish specific genre presets, tempo ranges, key controls or file formats, so verify those in Loudly’s current product and plan pages.

Udio’s Current Transition Limits
Udio’s listed limitation is operationally significant: audio, video and stem downloads are disabled during its transition period, although stem separation remains available. Udio and Universal Music Group settled copyright litigation on October 29, 2025 and agreed to build a licensed AI music platform trained on authorized music. Universal Music Group’s announcement describes that agreement.

Udio later said its licensed Starstruck app would keep generated recordings inside the platform rather than allowing downloads or delivery to streaming services, with a launch planned for later in 2026. Music Ally’s report covers those stated plans. Warner Music Group and Udio also announced a licensed-service collaboration on November 19, 2025, and Udio added Merlin and Kobalt licensing agreements. Warner Music Group’s announcement and Digital Music News’ Kobalt report provide those updates.
Loudly’s Export And Licensing Check
Loudly documents separated-stem exports, downloads on its Personal plan and distribution to streaming and social platforms. Its free generated tracks are limited to 30 seconds, and paid licensing rights depend on the plan terms. Check the applicable plan before using a track commercially or distributing it.
