Overview

The three apps divide work by role: Change portfolio supports organisation-wide initiatives, Change plan is for change managers, and Change mission is for change agents. Together they connect strategic intent with planning and observations from people affected by change. That makes Cohentis a more natural fit for coordinated programmes than for teams seeking only a task tracker.

Built by Geert Barandat, who has led IT programmes, portfolios and change in Belgian organisations for more than twenty years, Cohentis is headquartered in Lembeek (Halle), Belgium.

Key features

Benefits and adoption

Change portfolio maps benefits to initiatives and tracks each benefit’s starting point, target and latest measurement. Users can define leading indicators, target values and measurement rhythms; the app schedules measurements and flags those due or overdue. This gives portfolio owners a way to follow intended outcomes rather than treating completed activity as proof of benefit.

Planning and evidence

Change plan combines a risk register with a timeline for sub-plans, milestones, measurement points and dependencies. The structure is useful when a change manager needs to connect sequencing and risk with outcome checks. Cohentis also links actions to risks, insights to conversations and decisions to their prompts, giving teams a traceable path from observations to choices.

Listening missions and privacy

Change agents can open mission files without an account, record what people say on a device and return findings as a file. That approach can lower barriers to gathering field observations, though it relies on transferring files back rather than working through an account-based shared project.

For Free and Pro, project data is stored as a file on the user’s device, with no account or server holding the change project. Cohentis says it does not track user behaviour; anonymous usage counts contain no project data. It has no AI inside the app, although users may use their own AI to make an initial portfolio fill and confirm each line. It does not directly measure change fatigue: teams can see initiatives and what emerges by group, then identify whom to speak with.

Pricing

The Free plan is free and includes Change plan, Change portfolio and Change mission. One person can run one change project, with no account. That is a practical starting point for an individual project, but the one-person and one-project caps limit its use across a wider programme.

Pro costs 20.00 USD per month, billed per change manager / month. One licence covers all three apps; returned mission files can be applied to the plan, and the plan includes reports without a watermark and a strategy-to-front-line portfolio image. It suits a change manager who needs those reporting and portfolio outputs, while the per-manager billing matters as the team grows.

Enterprise is custom pricing, billed on request. It adds own-server hosting, file or own-database storage, single sign-on and apps in the organisation’s house style. Those controls make it the relevant tier for organisations with hosting or identity requirements; the price is arranged on request.

Platforms

Cohentis supports Android, iOS, web and self-hosted use. The site says the apps require no installation and Change mission files can be used on a phone, which supports field work without requiring agents to hold accounts.

Who it's for

Cohentis names portfolio managers, directors, department heads, project and programme managers, change managers and change agents as its audience. It is particularly suited to organisations that want strategic benefits, delivery risks and field observations linked in one approach. Teams needing direct change-fatigue measurement should look elsewhere; those wanting to discuss their needs can contact Cohentis, which also offers a team demo through its contact form.

Pros and cons

Pros: Three role-focused apps connect portfolio tracking, project planning and field listening.
Pros: Local project files on Free and Pro keep change project data off an account or server.
Pros: Scheduled measurement reminders and links between actions, risks, conversations and decisions support follow-through.
Cons: Free is limited to one person and one change project, so it is not a broad team rollout plan.
Cons: Change fatigue is not measured directly; teams must interpret group observations and decide whom to consult.
Cons: Enterprise pricing is on request, and Pro bills per change manager / month.

Alternatives

For a broader choice, see Change Management Software.

Choose ChangeFolio if you want a web-based alternative with a Free Forever plan for one user, one active company and 1,000 active stakeholders, or a free trial.

Avanqi is another web-based freemium option, with a free evaluation plan for one active change project and one active member, plus core portfolio, stakeholder and document workspaces.

Consider OCM Solution if you prefer a web-based paid product with a free trial and a $5 per guest / month view-only license.

ChangeVU may suit readers seeking a web-based enterprise application with a free trial and a $99.00 USD per year unlimited use license.

AMIGO is a web and API alternative with a free trial but no free plan; its Contributor plan is $20.00 USD per month, billed annually, per named user for task execution.

Giva ChangeManager is a paid option with a free trial across Android, iOS, web and API; its Professional plan is $76.00 USD per year, billed annually, for up to 10 agents and 1,500 end users or customers.

Choose AlignHQ if you want a web-based paid option with a free trial and a Starter plan at $30.00 USD per month per user, covering up to three active projects and stakeholder mapping up to 50.

The Change Compass is a web-based paid alternative with a free trial; its SMB plan costs $995.00 USD per month and includes data input and reporting, a dashboard, basic support and three users.

Verdict

Cohentis is a strong fit for change teams that need to connect expected benefits, risk-aware plans and field observations, especially when keeping project data in local files matters. Choose it for that joined-up workflow and its role-specific apps; look elsewhere if direct change-fatigue measurement is essential or the Free plan’s single-project, single-person limit is too restrictive.
