To make a first AI track, turn a description or your own lyrics into a short, specific music brief, generate a draft in a song-making tool, then revise one musical element at a time. The listed tools support text prompts and/or lyrics; none of the supplied feature details confirms direct image-to-music input. You can still use an image as a reference for your own written description, but do not assume a tool accepts the image itself.
Choose Your Starting Point
| Starting point | What to prepare | Tools with listed support |
|---|---|---|
| Description | A scene, mood, musical direction, and a clear sense of whether you want vocals or an instrumental. | Suno, Eleven Music, SongIntent, Udio, Loudly, AI Song Maker |
| Lyrics | Your own lines, marked by section, plus a brief describing the intended musical setting. | Suno, Eleven Music, SongIntent, Udio, Loudly, AI Song Maker |
| Image | Describe its visible details in words: setting, colors, motion, and emotional contrast. Treat these as creative cues. | No direct image input is established by the listed facts. Use any of the description-based tools above only with your written brief. |
Write A Brief That Can Become Music
A useful prompt gives the generator material it can express in sound. Instead of entering only “a song about a rainy city,” add a musical direction, the track’s energy, its development, and whether it should have vocals. Genre, mood, theme, structure, instrumentation, and vocal or instrumental intent are useful categories to specify where the chosen tool offers them; exact controls vary, so check the tool’s interface and vendor information.
Example: Start From A Description
Try a brief such as: “Instrumental track for a late-night coding session; restrained electronic atmosphere, steady forward motion, soft opening that builds into a fuller middle, then a clean, quiet ending. Keep it focused and avoid a dramatic climax.” This gives a scene, energy, progression, and ending without claiming a specific instrument or genre feature is guaranteed.
Example: Start From An Image
Look at the image and write down details you can translate into sound: “An empty train platform at blue hour, wet pavement reflecting distant lights, one person waiting; reflective and spacious, with a slow build and no vocals.” Paste that description as a text prompt. The image is inspiration for your brief, not an established upload input for these products.

Example: Start From Lyrics
Keep your first lyric draft short and label its sections clearly, for example [Verse] and [Chorus]. Add a separate direction such as: “Intimate vocal delivery, measured pace, quiet verse with a more open chorus; preserve the supplied words.” These are creative instructions, not guaranteed controls. If exact lyric preservation matters, review the generated performance line by line.
Generate And Refine The First Draft
- Pick one workflow. For a complete song from a text idea or lyrics, Suno, Eleven Music, Udio, Loudly, and AI Song Maker list song generation from prompts and/or lyrics. SongIntent lists generation from ideas and lyrics alongside line-level revisions. Choose based on the source you have and the editing path you want.
- Enter one brief. State the subject, mood, vocal or instrumental direction, and the track’s progression. Keep the first attempt narrow enough that you can tell whether the result followed the central idea.
- Listen for the core match. Check whether the result conveys the scene or emotional movement you intended. For lyrics, check wording, section order, and whether the vocal emphasis fits the lines.
- Change one instruction at a time. If the mood is right but the track feels too busy, revise the arrangement or energy language. If the lyrics are unclear, simplify the phrasing or section layout. Changing a single aspect makes the next draft easier to compare.
- Use editing only where listed. Suno lists editing, remixing, extensions, and section replacement; Eleven Music lists section editing and inpainting; Udio lists lyric editing, extensions, transformations, and Sessions timeline editing; SongIntent lists structure and line-level revisions; Loudly lists remixing. The exact controls and current availability can vary, so check each vendor’s current interface before planning around a specific operation.
- Save the version you want to develop. Before sharing or using a track, review the selected plan’s current download options, permitted use, and any limits at the vendor’s site.

Check Rights Before Sharing Or Releasing The Track
Use only lyrics, recordings, voices, and other material you have permission to submit. If a workflow uses a voice reference, uploaded audio, or generated voice, check consent requirements and the product’s current terms. The listed licensing details are plan-dependent for several services: Suno’s Free Plan does not include commercial rights; Eleven Music’s commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, TV, and studio games; Loudly says paid licensing depends on plan terms; AI Song Maker says commercial use depends on eligibility and license terms. Check the vendor’s current terms for your intended use.
