To turn lyrics into a song with AI, prepare your words as clear song sections, paste them into a lyric-capable generator, direct the genre and arrangement, generate several takes, then export stems or MIDI for finishing in your DAW. Prepare Your Lyrics For Generation
- Split the lyric into labeled sections. Put each part on its own line with labels such as [Verse 1], [Pre-Chorus], [Chorus], and [Bridge]. Keep repeated choruses identical unless you intentionally want a variation.

Turn The Lyrics Into A First Song
- Open the generator and select its lyric or custom-text mode. In Suno, Udio, Mureka, WriteSong.AI, or Eleven Music, paste your sectioned lyric into the lyric field rather than asking the model to write new words.
- Write a compact style prompt. State genre, approximate tempo feel, vocal character, instrumentation, song structure and production mood. For example: indie rock, restrained verses, wide anthemic chorus, dry lead vocal, live drums, two-bar intro. Keep the lyric itself separate from this prompt.
- Generate at least three variations. Change one variable at a time: vocal character, instrumentation, or tempo feel. Save the lyric, prompt and version identifier with each render so you can return to the strongest arrangement.
- Use targeted editing instead of regenerating everything. Use section replacement, lyric editing, extension or transformation where the product provides it. - Build an instrumental underneath the vocal when needed. - Check export availability before committing to a workflow. Udio states that audio, video and stem downloads are disabled during its transition period, even though stem separation is available. Suno’s free plan does not include stem separation.

- Suno: the Free Plan does not include commercial rights. Review the applicable plan terms before releasing a track.
- Eleven Music: the free plan is limited to personal use, and commercial rights vary by plan and exclude film, television and studio games.
- WriteSong.AI: commercial rights apply only to tracks generated during an active annual plan.
- Soundverse AI Beat Maker: commercial licenses are listed under Creator & Pro.
- Loudly: if you use its remix or distribution workflow, free generated tracks are limited to 30 seconds and paid licensing rights depend on the selected plan.
For any voice, cover, uploaded reference or sample, obtain the necessary consent and read the platform’s current terms. Keep copies of the lyric, prompts, source recordings and plan details that applied when you generated the song.
