The record

Purpose: Hinchilla helps non-profits find likely funders and draft grant applications using AI.
Funder search: Its search researches, scores and ranks UK funders against a project’s priorities and funder exclusions, with a reason for each match.
Search results: The ranked shortlist can include match scores, grant ranges, deadlines and where funders operate.
Application drafting: Hinchilla uses an organisation’s past applications and documents to draft answers in its voice and align them to funders.
Application review: It reviews generated applications against funder criteria and suggests improvements before submission.
Reporting: It can generate funder-specific progress reports for a project across different timelines and requirements.
Trello integration: The Trello integration exports grant questions as cards with requirements, supporting information and links back to Hinchilla.
AI tools: The site lists a prompt generator and a letter of support generator, and marks Grant Analyzer and Knowledge Base as coming soon.
Data use: Hinchilla says it does not train AI models on customer data and that customers can delete their data.
Security: The maker says stored data is encrypted using AWS storage layer encryption, access is limited by role, servers have firewalls, and transfers are encrypted.
AI providers: The privacy policy lists Claude, OpenAI and Mathpix as AI services that receive uploaded grant files and messages sent to its AI chat.
Support: The About page says Silvia handles customer support and works to ensure a smooth user experience.
Intended users: Hinchilla says it was created to help UK non-profits write grant proposals and reduce administrative work.
Geographic limit: Funder search currently covers UK grant funders and charitable trusts; the maker says it is working on adding more regions.
