What it does: Splitit lets shoppers split purchases into installments using available credit on an existing credit card.
No new loan: The credit-card installment service does not open a new credit account or require a new loan application.
Credit-card charges: For credit-card installments, the first payment is generally charged at purchase and later payments are charged automatically monthly or bi-weekly according to the selected plan.
Authorization hold: Splitit temporarily authorizes the full purchase amount on the card, while billing each installment as it comes due.
Early payoff: Shoppers can pay off the remaining balance early without a fee.
Pay after delivery: Pay After Delivery holds the payment on an existing credit card and charges it when delivery is confirmed; if delivery is not confirmed within the merchant's stated timeframe, the card may be charged in full.
