The record

Product: Kihon is management software for martial arts schools covering members, billing, scheduling, attendance, and rank tracking.
Lead management: Its lead pipeline covers leads, trials, Decision Day, and enrollment.
Contracts: Kihon validates drawn signatures and stores an evidence record with each contract, which can be bundled into a PDF for charge disputes.
Families: Households can use one registration flow and payment method, with children’s ranks, attendance, and schedules in one view and split payments supported.
Ranks and grading: Schools can define belt ladders and use attendance-based promotion eligibility, bulk promotions, and testing events with registration.
Messaging: The FAQ says two-way texting and in-app chat are built in; texts are billed at published prices.
Payments: The school remains the merchant of record and Kihon says it does not hold the school’s funds; the site lists a 0.5% Kihon Payments fee for founding schools, in addition to processor fees.
Data export: Schools can export member, agreement, billing, and attendance data at any time with no exit fee.
Platforms: The product runs in a web browser, and Kihon Staff is available for iPhone and iPad on the App Store.
Privacy: Kihon says it does not sell personal information and identifies Cloudflare, Stripe, Resend, and Supabase as service providers.
Security: The privacy policy says Kihon uses technical and organizational measures to protect information but does not guarantee absolute security.
Support: The site says support is answered by the founder, and the apps page says a human answers support email within a business day.
Intended users: Kihon is built for martial arts schools including BJJ, karate, taekwondo, and kickboxing; the site says yoga studios and gyms are planned for later.
Headquarters: Austin, Texas, United States
