The record

Purpose: Kozaru is dojo management software for martial arts schools, covering students, attendance, gradings and fees.
Attendance insights: It compares attendance with each student's usual rhythm and flags students who may be drifting.
Ranks and gradings: Schools can design belt ranks and set grading rules, with readiness calculated from attendance and time held.
Family app: Parents and students can use a school-branded web app installed from a link, without an app store download.
Bookings and kiosk: The product supports class bookings, waitlists and check-in through a kiosk running on a tablet.
Payments: Member payments run through the school's own Stripe account, and Kozaru says it does not hold those funds or take a percentage of fees.
Integrations: Timetable and instructor pages can be embedded in Wix, Squarespace and WordPress sites, and Google sign-in is supported.
Messaging: App notifications are free, while text messages cost 10c each and honor STOP replies.
Security: Kozaru says each school's private records are encrypted with a school-specific key and database rules prevent one school from accessing another's records.
Privacy and hosting: The site says its servers are in Melbourne, data is not sold or shared, and its privacy policy was written with the Australian Privacy Act and GDPR in mind.
Backups: Kozaru says backups are encrypted, kept in three tiers for up to a year, and restored and checked quarterly.
Limits: The free plan supports up to 20 active students; the AI helper and text messages require payment, and the site says there is no yearly subscription.
Who it is for: The maker says the product grew out of systems used in a real martial arts school and was built for dojo operations.
Headquarters: Australia
